Instructions for use

1. Use Aktivator 205 to clean your surface.
2. Use Primer 507 as a bonding primer.
3. Apply the 831E to fill the gaps in the vehicle's roof ribs.
4. Apply the 552AT to the outer parts of your rooflight (around the part that fits into the van).
5. Test the watertightness of your installation and redo the seal if necessary.

Sikaflex 552AT

Sikaflex-552 AT is a high-performance adhesive sealant developed with Sika's hybrid polyurethane technology (STP). Isocyanate-free, it is specially designed for demanding bonding applications requiring durable, resistant adhesion. Versatile, it is perfectly suited to body parts and exterior fittings subject to high stresses.

Main applications:

• Ideal for mounting exterior components that require strong adhesion
• Recommended for fitting roof extensions, spoilers, solar panels, etc.
• Suitable for bonding items to vehicle bodywork
• Can be overpainted with most automotive paints, including water-based ones

Tips for use:

• Capacity: 300 ml cartridge

Sika Primer 507

SIKA Primer 507 surface preparation

SIKA Primer 507 is a surface preparation product designed to improve the adhesion of adhesives on a wide variety of substrates. To be applied to a clean, dry surface free of dust and grease, it is suitable for metals (vehicle bodywork), glass (windscreens), painted surfaces and plastics.

This new-generation primer replaces SIKA Primer 207 and complies with current standards thanks to a composition containing less than 0.1% diisocyanate monomers, meaning no REACH safety training is required.

SIKA has been established in France since 1932 and offers innovative solutions in many fields: industry, marine, automotive, concrete, roofing, repair, sealing and bonding. With more than 1200 employees, the French subsidiary draws on recognised expertise.

Application:

• Shake the bottle well until you hear the metal ball, then continue shaking for one minute.
• Then apply a thin coat with a brush. A single application is sufficient.
• Recommended temperature: between 15 and 25 °C.
• Average coverage: 50 mL per m².

SIKA SikaLastomer 831 E removable butyl sealant – sealing for motorhomes and converted vans

SIKA SikaLastomer 831 E removable butyl sealant is the ideal solution for ensuring a perfect seal on the roof of your motorhome, van or converted van. This sealant tape comes on a roll, is easy to use and is particularly effective for installations that need to be easy to remove.

It is perfectly suited to fitting rooflights, air conditioners, roof ventilators or any other screwed or riveted roof accessory requiring a perfect seal.

A butyl sealant that is easy to apply and remove:

• Available in rolls of 12 to 25 metres and in 1.5 mm or 3 mm thickness, SikaLastomer 831 E sealant can be applied without special tools. Simply pressing it between the two surfaces is enough to ensure a lasting seal, thanks to the high elasticity of butyl.
• This sealant does not bond permanently: it remains flexible yet dry to the touch, allowing you to remove your equipment without damaging the surfaces. Simply clean off any residue with a knife and a disposable paper towel to leave the surface clean and mark-free.

Compatible with all materials: formulated from polyisobutylene (butyl), this sealant is compatible with a wide variety of materials: metal, plastic, aluminium, polyester, etc. It withstands weathering, vibrations and temperature variations, making it perfectly suited to leisure vehicles.

Vibration reduction: SikaLastomer 831 E does more than just seal: in thicker layers, it also acts as a vibration damper, extending the service life of your installations and improving comfort on board your vehicle.
