The GR-903R is designed for layouts where a full-size kitchen is not possible:

The benefit of the tempered glass lid

With the lid closed, the unit becomes an extension of the worktop. This is crucial in such a compact format: without the lid, you would permanently occupy 53 × 32.5 cm of your cabinet for the sink + burner. With the lid closed, you recover the entire surface when you are not cooking.

The 4 mm tempered glass resists everyday impacts, cleans easily with a sponge, and offers a premium visual finish compared to plastic.

The foldable hot/cold tap (Pack 2)

The stainless steel tap of Pack 2 folds flat onto itself to allow:

• To close the glass lid without removing the tap
• To free up height under the overhead cabinets while driving
• To avoid shocks when the vehicle is moving

It is a hot/cold mixer tap: if you install a water heater in your layout, you can connect hot and cold water for truly comfortable dishwashing.

Important: this tap does not have an integrated electrical switch. It works with a self-priming pump with pressure switch type Vanlife 12V Water pump — the pump detects the pressure drop as soon as the tap opens and starts automatically, then stops when closed.

Thermocoupled safety and VASP certification

The thermocoupled system (also called thermocouple safety or Flame Failure Device) is a regulatory requirement to use a gas burner in a certified habitable vehicle. Specifically:

• In case of flame extinguished by a draft, a water splash, or a pot overflow, the thermocouple detects the absence of heat and automatically cuts off the gas supply
• No leaks, no accumulation, no risk of explosion or suffocation

This device is mandatory for VASP approval in France and highly recommended for any permanent layout.

Installation

The GR-903R fits into your worktop using the supplied cutting template:

1. Mark the cutout on the worktop
2. Cut with a jigsaw
3. Place the unit in its housing with a silicone seal
4. Fix from underneath
5. Connect the drain to the 25 mm waste pipe leading to your waste water tank
6. Connect the tap (Pack 2) to the pressure pump
7. Connect the burner to your gas bottle via a standard LPG/butane regulator (not included)

Q: Compatible with a standard gas bottle? A: Yes. The burner works on LPG or butane via a standard regulator (not included). Compatible with standard motorhome gas installations.

Q: Is the thermocouple sufficient for VASP? A: The thermocouple is the required regulatory safety. It must be combined with a compliant gas installation (standard pipes, certified regulator, accessible main shut-off). Our unit ticks the "burner safety" box.

Q: Which pump to use with the Pack 2 tap? A: A 12V self-priming pressure switch pump — the pump activates when the tap opens and stops when it closes.

Q: Does the glass lid support the weight of a saucepan? A: Yes — 4 mm tempered glass designed for this use. Still avoid placing hot objects directly on it without a trivet, and never place a hot pan on it immediately after cooking.

Q: Basin 225 × 225 × 100 mm — is that enough? A: For rinsing plates, cups, cutlery, and small utensils — yes. For washing a large pot — no. This size is designed for a compact kitchenette, not a full-size kitchen.

Q: Difference between GR-903R and GR-903L? A: Mirror configuration (sink on the right and hob on the left, or vice versa). Choose the version that matches your kitchen cabinet layout — usually the R version if you want the sink on the right when facing the cabinet.
