Black Stainless Steel Sink with Folding Lid for Motorhome & Van Kitchen — 40 × 35 cm
The sink that switches to a black finish to blend with modern stealth vanlife layouts. Food-grade stainless steel 304 with black coating, folding tempered glass lid that folds down to reclaim worktop space, integrated drain plug. Why choose this sink
- BLACK finish — matte aesthetic that matches modern layouts (oak, black melamine, raw plywood) and sets your kitchen apart from classic stainless steel sinks.

- Folding tempered glass lid — protects, reduces noise, frees up worktop space.
- Optimized size — 42 × 37 cm overall, perfect for van and Motorhome kitchens where every centimeter counts.
- Drain kit included — 25 mm hose + plug supplied in all packs.
- Cut-out template provided — simplifies installation in the worktop.
- Standard 35 mm tap hole — compatible with most van/Motorhome kitchen taps.

Why a black sink
The black finish meets a strong demand from recent vanlife layouts: less reflection, more discreet appearance, visual coherence with dark oak worktops, black laminate, or oiled plywood. Where a raw stainless steel sink reflects light and draws the eye, the black sink blends into the furniture — a clear advantage in a compact kitchen where you want to avoid the "equipment clutter" effect.
It is also a practical choice: limescale marks are less visible on a matte black finish than on shiny stainless steel, which reduces daily maintenance.
The benefit of the tempered glass lid
With the lid closed, the sink becomes a worktop extension: you chop your vegetables on top, place the coffee maker, work without having to tidy everything away. With the lid open, you have a classic stainless steel basin for washing up or cooking.
The folding tap (Pack 2)
The stainless steel tap of Pack 2 folds flat onto itself, which allows:
- To close the glass lid without dismantling or bypassing the tap
- To free up the available height under the overhead cabinets during travel
- To avoid shocks and breakages while the vehicle is moving
Important about power supply: this tap does not have an integrated electrical switch. It works with a self-priming pressure switch water pump type Vanlife 12V Water Pump — the pump detects the pressure drop as soon as the tap is opened and starts automatically, then stops when closed.
Installation
Mark the cut-out using the provided template, saw the worktop (jigsaw), place the sink in its slot with a silicone seal, fix it from underneath, connect the drain to the 25 mm waste pipe leading to your waste water tank, and connect the tap (Pack 2) to the pressure pump and fresh water tank.
Frequently asked questions
Does the black finish wear off? The coating is designed for kitchen use. Avoid harsh abrasives (scouring powders, steel wool) that can scratch the finish over time. A soft sponge + regular soap is enough for routine cleaning.
Which pump to use with the Pack 2 tap? A 12V self-priming pressure switch pump — the pump activates when the tap opens and stops when it closes.
Does the glass lid support the weight of a saucepan? Yes — tempered glass designed for this use. Avoid placing hot objects directly on it without a trivet.
Stainless steel 304 vs 201? 304 is food-grade stainless steel, much more resistant to corrosion than 201, which is often used on entry-level sinks.
Difference from the raw stainless steel model? Same dimensions, same specs, same cut-out format. The only difference is the black finish and the visual effect. Choose according to your layout style.
The sink that disappears into your kitchen
If you want a vanlife kitchen that doesn’t look like a stainless steel workshop, the BLACK model is the direct choice. Same performance as the raw stainless steel version, but with a finish that blends into your furniture. Choose the Pack 1 if you already have your tap, or the Pack 2 to start with a foldable stainless steel tap already road-ready.
